A great day! Clint exceeded our expectations and provided a fun and informative day. His knowledge about wine and the region is impressive and not the least bit pretentious. The staff and owners of each of the wineries were a pleasure to be with and learn from and we are going home with plenty of fine wines to enjoy but there was no pressure to purchase. Because we were with Clint, we got special attention and can’t recommend Twisted Vines enough. Thanks, Clint!

Family was coming to town for the Thanksgiving Holiday and we were looking for something to do as a group. We had wine drinkers and non-wine drinkers, so I was a bit worried. Didn't matter one bit! Clint educated us (we might have educated him some) on the areas history and the local wines...he really catered to our mixed group of interests and ages. I would recommend any tour by Clint...he delivers an experience. (Plus he hauled out all the wine I bought!) Thank you Clint! Will do it again some time.

We took a day tour to Walla Walla with Clint and had an incredible experience. Clint was extremely knowledgable about the wines, the wineries, the area, the history, and a host of other things. He made us feel comfortable throughout the day whether we were shopping downtown, eating out, or tasting wines at the wineries. He had thought of every detail, making the trip relaxing and pleasant. I have been to tastings in the past which were nice, but I wasn't sure how to make the most of the visit. Clint walked us through how to taste the wines, what to look for, what questions we might ask, things that made the whole day more productive and pleasant. I would definitely take another tour with Clint.

Such a fun experience! Clint is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to LC Valley history! The local wine makers are so friendly and engaging, it’s very interesting to hear their stories. Squeeze one or two of the smaller, new Valley wineries...they have really great wine and atmosphere! When you book your tour, make sure to add the gourmet meal at Ampersand!! Keeley is an amazing chef and you’ll learn a lot! This is definitely something you can enjoy again and again!

I took Clint's Twisted Vine Wine Tour with my Front Desk Staff. We had an amazing time and learned a lot of interesting facts about the LC Valley that I never knew. I have lived in the area my entire life, so I was shocked that Clint had so much information that I did not know about. We loved the wineries, but the information in between wineries was just as entertaining as the wineries themselves. If you like wine and history I would definitely recommend this tour.

Our tour started in our driveway..........yes, Clint picked the four of us up at our home almost 50 miles from Lewiston, where we departed for a wonderful afternoon/evening that included fun & fact-filled history lessons of the LC Valley - from its geology formations to modern times, a tremendously interesting connection of the history of wine and its evolution in the LC Valley, and a most thoughtful and helpful tour of the wineries in the LC Valley itself. Clint's fantastic interpersonal skills combined with his love of these subjects and an amazing ability to move fluently through them resulted in a very delightful tour......which of course ended safely and comfortably right back in our very front yard. Thank you again, Clint. We are very much looking forward to our next opportunity to share an evening with friends on one of your wonderful tours.

This was hands-down the best wine tour I have went on! Clint was so informational about not only the wine but the area. The Lewis-Clark Valley has a very interesting past and Clint filled us in with it all! It was such pleasure getting to know the winemakers personally as well as chat with them about how they got into wine making as well as finding their way here, to the LC Valley!

Our boss set up an Employee Teambuilding Experience, and I’ve got to say it was incredible! The tour included 4 wineries and dinner at Ampersand, learning how to cook with the different oils and vinegars available. Clinton was very enthusiastic about the tour, that you know from the start how much he loves what he does...it’s infectious! Highly recommend booking a tour with Clinton from Twisted Vine Wine Tours...or 2!

You know home when you can taste it -- my family helped settle the LC Valley AVA in 1860. Hence, I was expecting my Mom, Dad, and I to end up teaching Clint about the area. Boy was I wrong. Clint seriously knows his stuff, including the wineries. After four hours we just started to scratch the surface -- I wish we would've hit pause, poured him a glass, and let him tell more stories. Exceedingly professional and safety aware too. I wasn't expecting much from my hometown's new AVA, having done tours and tastings in Nampa, Walla Walla, and Chelan. But I found our wineries are much more personable and, well, friendly. Part way through the tour I caught myself daydreaming about hunting when I was a kid on the Lewiston Hill -- and running out at Hell's Gate after a fresh rain. It snuck up on me. Stunned me. It was the wine! This is terroir. This is the taste of home! The rest of the tour I could tell by just the smell what was grown in the LC Valley AVA vs somewhere else and every time I couldn't stop from smiling. Thanks Clint!

I had no idea there were so many quality wineries in Lewiston, ID. Clint could not have provided a better service. He gave us information about the wineries before the tour, gave us tips on places to eat and stay, and answered questions from us weeks and days before the tour. We not only received first class service, we were provided history of the Lewiston area in addition to the history of the wineries. The wines we tasted were excellent. I am definitely going to make this tour an annual event.

My husband had a conference this last weekend, and part of the event included a wine tour for the spouses. I have been on many wine tours and historical tours both here in the US and abroad, but Clint at Twisted Vine tours exceedingly surpasses my expectations. He has every minute detail taken care of to make your experience of the upmost quality! His passion and love of the area comes from a lifetime of living here and is a perfect fit for educating and entertaining visitors to the Valley. You can tell how much he cares not only for his clients but for all of the local wine makers and businesses in the area, right down to the advice of leaving the perfume and chewing gum behind so that the wine experience is a true representation of the superb quality the wineries have to offer. Thank you Clint! We had a ball!!

This is a must if you not only want to taste excellent wine, but if you want to know the history of the wine makers and the area they grow the grapes. Clint provided us information about the wineries in advance of the tour so that we could do our own research if we wanted. He also provided great recommendations for restaurants, hotels, and made dinner reservations for us. Clint was an excellent tour guide, made us all feel comfortable, gave us excellent information about the wineries we were visiting, the wines we were tasting, and the history of the LC Valley. The Twisted Vine tour was an amazing team building event for us. Clint was able to handle with grace a party of 12 with great knowledge of local History and an abundance of information for Wine connoisseurs. I highly suggest if you are looking to reward your team or co-workers do this Wine tour with your spouse/significant others. I was able to tell Clint what we were looking to do and he arranged it all, from reserving hotel rooms, dinner reservations and cab rides home after a night cap with the team. It was an excellent experience even for the team members, which going into it, wasn’t sure about a wine tour!! And the bonus is, with Clint, you will see behind the seen action at the Wineries you won’t get anywhere else, Thank you Clint!

I had a friend visiting from out of town, and I was looking for something for us to do. A local wine tour definitely fit the bill. As an entrepreneur who built a local transportation company from the ground up, and later selling the company, I know how difficult this industry is. Clint, the owner of the company and our tour guide, is hitting everything exactly right. Well dressed, he was well prepared, and knows his topic: namely, the Lewis/Clark Valley, since he grew up here. His tour was well done, and I was impressed that he seemed to have thought of everything. I have already recommended his services to other friends in the area.

My husband and I really enjoy traveling the world. That's one of the reasons I used to be a travel agent. We really enjoy seeing the local flavor of the place by taking a tour, where ever we go, with someone who lives there. I had no idea that such a high quality tour was available right here at home. The tour guide was excellent, the information he gave was fun and interesting, and the tour itself was a ton of fun. I have gone on this tour twice now, and it was different each time. I am looking forward to going on it again after the wineries come out with their spring releases.

We were picked up at my relatives house in Lewiston and I was impressed by how professional our guide, Clint, was. Clint offered us bottled water (still or sparkling), and the van was clean and comfortable. I always felt safe. Clint provided commentary on the Lewis-Clark AVA, and the back story of each of the wineries. As we had the highest end tour, the tastings and dinner were included in the price. I enjoyed learning more about Lewis and Clark, and hearing about some of the history of the area. Dinner was excellent at Colter's Creek! I can't wait to come back and take some different relatives on this tour. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys wine and learning the "behind-the-scenes" and backstory behind things. Clint definitely treats you right!

We took the Malbec Tour on Saturday, July 1, 2017, as a part of our trip to the Palouse region of the Washington State and the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. The entire tour lasted about 7 hours and 15 minutes. Clint, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and responsive. To sum up, this was a well-designed and well-conducted wine-tasting tour, in which you will experience best wines of the region, meet a few friendly elite wine makers in person, learn a lot about wine-making and the history of Lewis-Clark Valley American Viticultural Area. A brief note about each stop is listed below.1. Clearwater Canyon Cellars - We tasted 7 different types of wine, several of which are highly decorated with medals from many wine competitions. Coco, the wine maker with Ph.D. in wine-making, talked to us about the unique geography and climate of the Lewis-Clark Valley, the history of their vineyard and winery, and different aspects of wine-making. We also toured the warehouse where wine-making equipment and aisles of stacked wine barrels are located. 2. Colter's Creek Tasting Room and Restaurant - We tasted 4 or 5 different types of wine, including some gold medal winners. We also ordered a cheese platter to pair with the wine. The scenery of the Clearwater River valley along the route to the venue was very impressive.3. Woodie Cellars - We tasted 3 or 4 different kinds of wine here. Carter, former professor of wine-making at WSU, talked to us about his small scale operation procedures and some differences between making red and white wines, among other interesting topics. 4. Vine 46 - We tasted 3 different kinds of wine here, one of which was a gold medal winner. The wine maker duo, Jeff and Mike, chatted with us at kitchen counter in the tasting room about their double professions and their approaches of making wine.5. Lindsay Creek Vineyards - This was the most beautiful, and probably the largest, winery of the tour. There was a wedding ceremony going on outside the tasting room while we were there. We tasted 3 different wines, all of which were medal winners. Art, the wine maker, talked about himself and their business, and took us to tour the warehouse.

My family owns a winery outside of Walla Walla, Washington, and my husband and I wanted something fun to do on a Saturday. We met the guide, Clint, at the Red Lion. The van was clean, and Clint was easygoing and fun. I had gone to Merry Cellars in Pullman and Clearwater Canyon Cellars in Lewiston before. I had no idea there were so many other good local wines. The tour was great, and we definitely are going to be bringing my family along when they come over next time.

My husband's family own a winery out of the area, and we had tasted wines from a couple local wineries, but heard about this wine tour, and wanted an easy way to try out the rest. I'm glad we did! Not only was Clint, the tour guide, really professional and saw to all of our needs (before we even knew we needed something!), he was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and of course about the local wines. I really enjoyed the scent box that Clint brought out at each location. It was really fun to be able to match the tasting notes from each wine with individual scents. I would definitely go on this tour again, especially since he has an in on two more wineries coming online soon!

My husband and I were in Lewiston visiting relatives, and we heard about Twisted Vine Wine Tours. I'm super happy we did. We signed up for the Malbec Tour. We were picked up at my relatives house in Lewiston. I was impressed by how professional our guide, Clint, was. Clint had a single headphone thing, that you put over one ear. I appreciated that it was made of smooth plastic that Clint said that he personally sanitized. I admit i'm a bit of a germ freak, so that was one less thing to worry about.

Frequently asked questions
Heaven’s no! We’re excited you’re going to be joining us for your first trip. In fact, many people going on the tour have never done a wine tasting, so you’re with friends! An educational component will be provided at the first stop when that is the case (just let your guide know!).
A minimum of four is required for the tour to go. However, the maximum amount varies. Six or seven seems to be a magical number. However, for larger groups, I contract with the Wheatland Express.
Also, you may charter the entire van if you choose, regardless if it does not meet the minimum amount.
This is an easy question: whatever you want! In the summer shorts and skirts/dresses is the norm. In the winter, sweaters and sweatshirts, are prevalent. Jeans are always okay. Some people wear khakis. Every once in a great while you’ll see people in a suit and ties. The bottom line is to dress how you feel comfortable, and you will not feel out of place. However, comfortable shoes are strongly recommended. High heels are strongly discouraged, as we will be often standing and walking, and perhaps frolicking in the vineyard!
For the guide, it is completely at your discretion. If you are pleased with the service and effort put forth by your guide, you are most welcome to offer him or her a gratuity. Your thoughtfulness will be greatly appreciated.
If you have a large party, and there is a driver AND a guide, we have already given the driver a gratuity.
If you have chosen to go to Ampersand, gratuity and taxes are already included.

If we drive in to the designated rally point to meet the tour, won’t we be too intoxicated to drive?
We strongly encourage our guests to enjoy the Lewis Clark Valley and enjoy the amazing restaurants we have to offer. Take your time, enjoy a meal, and savor this time away from stress. In fact, why don’t you stay at our Preferred Partner, the Red Lion Hotel? We can get you a discount, and there are no worries that way. Mention that you are with Twisted Vine Wine Tours, and they will apply the discount, or contact us for more information. Or, there are our partners at the Quality Inn and Convention Center, the Best Western, the Hampton Inn, or the Holiday Inn Express, who have excellent rooms and great staff to take care of your needs during your stay.
If you would like a private, chartered tours: none. When the tour is chartered, it is considered to be an exclusive and private tour, and you have paid for all 7 seats on the van, regardless of the number of people. The only people who may go are those who you invite (an interpreter may be included by Twisted Vine Wine Tours, LLC, if needed and as arranged with the Responsible Party, at an additional fee.) However, if you are not on a private charter, that is a part of the fun, to meet new and interesting people while enjoying the Lewis Clark valley’s history and culture.
Yikes! So happy you know how to have a good time, but this tour isn’t for you. We will be more than happy to refer you to one of the limousine or taxi cab companies in the area. Most of our clientele are locals who are looking for a stress-free way to explore their own community, ex-pats who are returning to visit family, those traveling on business who crave something off the beaten path, or tourists who are intrigued by our history.
With 24-hour notice, we can push your tour out to a specific time (depending on venue availability, and if no other tours have been booked for that day). With less than 24 hour notice, the tour guide will arrive promptly, and the clock will start. However, the tour will not board the van until the Responsible Party states that it is time to board. In the case of a late start, the guide will talk to the Responsible Party and ascertain her/his preferences. Additional time above the tour window will be billed at $70/hr. If it is a mixed tour and not just one group, the tour will leave no later than 10 minutes after the scheduled departure time.
No. Due to licensing requirements, we are unable to cross the border.
If a total of four people do not sign up, a full refund will be issued. However, after the tour is confirmed with a minimum of four people, there are no refunds. It is not fair to the other three people on the tour to cancel, and the tour will continue as planned.
For the remainder of the tours, that time was booked just for you, and there will be no refunds. If you inform us 72 hours prior to your reservation, we will be happy to reschedule your trip within one year of the original booked date, if space is available. Unfortunately, if the cancellation is less than 72 hours, we will be unable to reschedule your trip, and your tour cost will be forfeited.
